Are You Eligible?
To qualify for an FHA Streamline Refinance, you need to meet these basic requirements:
Existing FHA Loan
You must currently have an active FHA-insured mortgage to qualify.
On-Time Payment History
You must have made at least 6 consecutive monthly payments on your current FHA loan, with no more than one 30-day late payment in the past 12 months.
210-Day Waiting Period
A minimum of 210 days must have passed since the closing date of your original FHA mortgage.
Current MIP Status
Your mortgage insurance premiums (MIP) must be fully current and in good standing at the time of application.
Credit Score (Not Always Required)
A full credit check is usually not required, but if one is performed, a score of 620+ is generally preferred. Higher scores (700+) may help you qualify for better interest rates.
